The 16 best Airport and Flight hacks

Let's face it. Flying isn't the easiest thing in the world. Going through the security check and flying from one place to another can be tricky due to a lot of rules. In this post, I will show you the best tips and hacks which will make your journey much more comfortable. Bring empty water bottles If you are a frequent traveler, you know that you can't bring too much liquid with yourself to your flight. There are strict rules applied for carry-on luggage and fluids are also regulated in that. If you want some drink, and probably you will as flights can be long, you have 2 (or 3) choices. First is to buy a drink inside the duty-free zone for the price of gold. I always avoid this. Second is to purchase your drink from the flight crew on the plane. I also avoid this, but in "emergency" cases it's okay. Third and best option is to bring an empty water bottle with yourself. I explain this a little more. Pack a small (half liters) water bottle to your bag and drink it before going through security check! As the bottle is empty, you can smoothly go through [...]

Walk instead of public transportation

Walking has several advantages over using public transportation (or cars) and I will show you these to encourage you to walk every day when you can do. Although there are some disadvantages too (which I will also tell you) it’s really worth to integrate walking into your life. So, let’s get started with the positive effects… You save money Tickets or monthly/weekly passes are expensive in most cities. Even if you’re working as an employee you can save up a huge amount of money if you walk instead of public transportation. In my country most of the employers pay you the price of the transportation (e.g. the monthly pass), if you travel around a lot in different countries/cities you will have to pay this yourself and it can add up. If you’re aware of your expenses this should be one of the first items to cross and walk instead. Healthier It’s the most important advantage I can tell you about walking. The only thing why I only mention this as the second positive effect because a lot of people think that money is more important to them than everything. I wanted to catch your attention with mentioning money first. Okay, [...]

What have I learned from cutting myself off from the internet for a few days while traveling?

Internet, computers, and smartphones are so addictive that we tend to use them all day long and experiencing problems, we get angry in case of any Internet outages. We can call this an addiction. Personally, I had so much struggle with the over usage of technical stuff that I needed some break. The main problem: addiction Okay, probably I don’t have to explain the main problem too long. I will show the problem with my personal experiences. Back in 2004, when I was 11 an average day looked like this for me: On weekdays I woke up in the early morning and went to primary school. I arrived home at 1-2 in the afternoon… aaaand here comes the problem: just before lunch or doing anything else more important I turned on my computer. I was strongly addicted to computer and Internet. I sat there till dinner and then once again till sleeping. On weekends I woke up later but the scenario was almost the same. Just without school. Basically, I was just going away from the computer to eat and use the toilet. Okay, so still in 2004, my parents organized a trip to Sousse, Tunisia on that summer. I [...]

In this post I will show you what is Geocaching and why is it fun. I will be honest with you, when I first saw and tried it I didn’t like it and get really bored of it. But when I tried it for the second time I enjoyed so much and haven’t stopped since then… 🙂 What is Geocaching? Geocaching is any day, anytime adventure that can take you to amazing and beautiful places. Or even just to a place in your town that you’ve never been before. There are millions of geocaches worldwide, there are probably even some near you right now. To start finding them, just get out your phone or GPS. Then, create a free Geocaching account, and you're ready to go! The way it works is simple. Just choose the geocache you want to find, then navigate to its location. What you’re looking for varies. Geocaches come in different sizes, shapes, and difficulties. Geocaching isn't always easy. So it's okay to get excited when you discover the cache. After finding, sign the logbook, trade knickknacks if you want, and log your find online. When you're done, just put the geocache back where you found it, [...]

Help us to clean the planet from garbage

In today’s post, I will discuss a really important topic. I want you to help me/us to clean the planet from garbage. During my journeys, I have seen so many garbage and it made me really angry. It shouldn’t be this way and I want to invite you to join my movement. Challenge accepted? I will start the post with the homework for everyone who is reading it and I will talk about the problem in the latter part of the post. The challenge is easy but it can help the Earth to survive and also for people to live in a clean environment. Go outside and bring a rubbish bag with yourself. A plastic cleaning glove is also recommended but if you wash your hands carefully after you’re done it’s not required. Walk on the street and collect garbage and you can’t go home until your bag is not filled completely. If you can think about really filthy places close to your home and start cleaning that place. The problem Okay, so you know what you should do… but what is the problem actually? Plastic and other waste will stay in nature for really long time and as time [...]

Here is how I have experienced quitting my job

This post will be a little personal but will also contain a lot of useful information from my experiences to make your decision easier. Long story short As you may have known I quit my job to build my online business while traveling the world. Check my previous blog post: Why did I quit my job and why you should do so? It was a long period of time before I actually quit my job. I was suffering a really long time even without knowing my job is my main problem. So I made the decision and it was my best decision, period. It’s scary The upcoming time after quitting your job is scary. Really scary to be honest. All of your habits change from one day to another. You don’t have to go to the office, you don’t have to work on projects you don’t want to. But the scariest thing is you don’t have superiors so you are responsible for all of your decisions. It also gives you so much freedom but it’s also scary because suddenly you won’t get the consistent cash flow from your workplace and it puts so much pressure on you. You don’t believe [...]

What to bring with yourself when hiking?

Hiking is very popular and it’s a good activity to spend your free time. It helps you to clear your mind, relieve stress and it’s also a really good exercise. However, it can turn into a horrible experience if you are not packed with the correct equipment. You have to know some basic things before going to the mountains. So let’s start with some knowledge related to the preparing part of your trip. Always plan ahead You should always plan your trip ahead. First of all, plan the path of where you will go. It’s the most important because this way you will be able to calculate the estimated time of the trip and you won’t stay unexpectedly in the forest at the night. Always calculate with some rest every few hours. When you’re planning you should also check the weather forecasts. The best idea is to check the forecast regularly. I always check it on the date of planning and sometimes it also determines the date of the trip. Then I check it every few days and also the day before I go to the trip. You should be flexible because your health and safety are way more important [...]

Why is it better to relocate for months instead of traveling to new places every week?

Are you wondering how good would be to discover new places every few months? Or do you think you can’t afford traveling? I will show you that you’re not right when you say it’s impossible. Regular traveling Okay, so how does a regular traveling look like? If you’re lazy, you go on travel agency websites and pick a nice looking offer and when the day of traveling comes, pack your bag with full of stuff, go to the airport/train station and travel to your chosen destination. You spend a few days there, usually, it’s a week long and then you come back home. If you’re not lazy you can book everything on your own schedule. Book tickets and your hotel room. And most of the times it’s cheaper to book them on your own than with travel agencies. Relocating every few months Compared to the regular travel plans, relocating is really similar, although it isn’t. You book everything for yourself, get the tickets for the airplane, train or buses and you also book your accommodation. The huge difference is in your accommodation. You don’t stay in really expensive hotels or hostels. You rent an apartment or house instead. Here come [...]

Why did I quit my job and why you should do so?

You’re like most of the people, and you hate your job? I was in the same situation for years… until that point when it was enough, and I collected enough courage to talk with my boss about my future and quit my job. If you don’t know me, let me introduce myself. My name is Blaise (in my country they know me as Balázs, but it’s hard to pronounce in English), a mid-20s guy from the capital of Hungary. I always wanted to be a web developer, so I started this long journey when I was 6, later I went to an IT-specific high school and got my BSc degree as an IT engineer. In 2014 I started working at a company as a frontend web developer as an intern. Then in 2015 when I got my degree, I’ve become a full-time employee — starting my road down to the hell. I couldn’t handle it more, and I quit at the end of 2017, even ditching my big dream profession. The reasons why I quit There are several reasons which encouraged me to leave my job and start an entirely new life. Probably you will be able to relate with [...]
